One more idea for something to try, is that you could try getting different
repositories.  Try getting http://abridgegame.org/repos/abridge and
http://abridgegame.org/repos/abserver.  This is the client and server to my
online bridge game, and I'd be interested to hear if get also fails on
these (and if so, on what patch).

And I'm not sure I suggested letting it run for a _long_ time, just in case
it's not really hanging, but just getting really slow...
