I like this feature as it's useful when creating a new local repository 
copy, which I'm using as a sandbox.

I'm new to using VC systems but my previous, manual method was having 
separate dirs and differentiating between files based on their file times! I 
guess that's why I'm still keen on seeing the same files' dates/times for 
the originals and copies ;-)

Although I don't need to try it, a local get might even work over mapped 
drives in a Win network or with Samba :)
