So I think a subgoal of the project might be to make a compilable C version
of darcs for each release version.  I gave it a shot a while back but ran
into a continuous stream of compile/link errors.  But, ghc supposedly can do
this... do we have any ghc experts who would like to give this a try?

Also, I'm not sure how much C code would be generated... the darcs
executable is 4MB...
