You didn't miss that part. We are already doing that. What we were
looking for was a better way to handle it. This should work for now.

Right now darcs seems to work fine other than the really annoying "bug":
darcs init
darcs add -r *
darcs w # Spins on forever taking more and more memory.

I am not sure what the real cause of this yet but on a very large tree
it causes problems.
