[darcs-users] darcs tells me its consistent but doesn't seem to be so

Hi.  As you may know, I'm having some problems with darcs.

Based on the tips from those who replied privately, I'm starting from
the bottom, up.  When I run darcs check on my repo, it claims it's
consistent.  Yet, when I init a new repo (darcs init), and then push
to it, I get files that are out of sync from the pushee.  Stuff from
old versions crops up.  A simple grep shows that this stuff is not in
the current repo, yet somehow gets there when I push.

darcs whatsnew show's nothing (as it should).

Any advice?

I wouldn't mind starting totally from scratch at this point, if need
be, if someone could tell me how to do that as well.
