[darcs-users] One-offs that don't get checked in

Hello peoples,
How do I specify a class of patches that should never be checked in?
I've just started using Darcs to help with the DokuWiki dev effort. I keep a branch on my home machine, which I synchronize with my web site. Some of my mods are generic enough to be checked into the official DokuWiki dev repo. But some are specify to my needs and should never be checked in.
When I arrange to send an update I am asked for each recorded patch whether to include that patch. Many of these patches I never intend to send. How do I keep from accidentally including them? Is there a way to exclude a set of patches of my naming?
In case I might be able to use the regex feature, I have been enclosing the titles of all my one-off patches in parentheses. I haven't tried this, but it appears that I could generate an update from all non-one-off patches, without being given the option to manual select the patches to include. Am I reading that right?
Is there any way to simply exclude my one-offs from those presented to me for possible inclusion?
I read that the answer to most problems is to "create a new branch." But if I create a new branch, how do I verify that my patches work on my web site before checking them in (for later retrieval into the branch containing the one-offs)?
Thanks for your help!
~joe
