Okay, that's not something that Darcs likes. You should probably
split your initial commit into a number of smaller ones. (However, a
single 50MB commit should be okay.)
If your usage patterns have such huge commits, you're probably better
off using Git than Darcs. Darcs is not optimised for large commits,
and fixing that is not a priority for us.

So your troubles have started with a small commit? And you don't have
any unresolved conflicts in your repository?
