Well, on the bugtracker, there is

There are some vague notes on it (sorry) on the wiki

I have also created a test under tests/ssh.sh, where you can reproduce
the problem by setting USE_CONTROL_MASTER to anything and REMOTE to
place you can ssh to.

I'm sure I have some mail about this buried somewhere, but my searching
so far has been fruitless.

The one key symptom is this that scp and sftp will just hang with 0% CPU
usage.

Another note is that I have recently tried a variant of this using the
ControlMaster feature via .ssh/config *instead* of darcs's explict CM
stuff... and it also seems to hang.

Any ideas?
