Hi all
A thought I'd like to throw into the ring: would Darcs benefit from an easier means of accepting donations?
There's been a slow increase lately in the use of Bitcoin[1]. Bitcoins can be traded to and from "real" currency exchanges, and I've used them myself to buy real goods. What triggered me to ask is I noticed Thomas Hartman was accepting donations on Patch-tag[2] (bottom of the page), which amused me since I went on there to host the source to my Ruby Bitcoin client[3].
Bitcoin tipping actually works. I did a presentation on the subject at BarCamp Nottingham[4] and two people from a forum sent me tips. The largest was 0.5BTC, or about the cost of a pint :D
Anyway I thought I'd leave it as an idea. Thomas might also be around to answer questions if anyone has any.
HTH
Best
Ash
PS: I did investigate how Darcs currently accepts donations, but it appears the "Software Freedom Conservancy" link on http://darcs.net/ is broken?
