We could do so. How would having a separate command (as opposed to a flag) be beneficial in your view? Is it a question of convenience that the global defaults mechanism (echo send mail >> $HOME/.darcs/defaults) would not address?
And how would it fit into a setting where people already publish instructions “to send patches, use darcs send”?
