[darcs-users] Trying to upgrade darcs - cabal error

Hasn't the Homebrew thing come up before?
If you (any reader) remember seeing something like this (anybody), I'd appreciate a search.
I'm sure we'd had some head-scratching around it.

(I tend to install the Haskell Platform binary myself)

I've got haskell-platform-2012.2.0.0 with ghc-7.4.1 (why the version difference? is this a hb package thing?)

Maybe cabal install --verbose utf8-string
